GOG offers well-rated action RPG for free
On December 18, the renowned leaker Bilbil-kun predicted that GOG's next free game would be Silence: The Whispered World 2. However, this turned out to be incorrect. Instead, GOG is offering the quirky action RPG Chicken Assassin Reloaded for free from December 19 to 22.
The protagonist of Chicken Assassin is Mean McAllister, a fearless chicken determined to rescue his kidnapped girlfriend from a ruthless gang. Fans of button-mashing games like Tap Titans or Beat the Boss will likely enjoy this adventure. The gameplay unfolds from a 2D side-scrolling perspective.
Players take on the role of the "meanest rooster in town," battling through waves of enemies with quick clicks and clever use of McAllister's skills. The rooster can perform powerful area attacks, temporarily stun foes or significantly boost his attack speed.
Chicken Assassin Reloaded is priced at around $5 on Steam, where it boasts an impressive 94% positive rating from roughly 2,700 reviews. However, on Metacritic, the action RPG developed by OneShark and published by Akupara Games in June 2016 holds a more modest user score of 7.5. The main criticism targets its repetitive grind mechanics, which some players feel make the gameplay overly monotonous.
