The festive season can be a stressful time, so GOG has come up with something special to help ease the tension and hopefully ensure a peaceful Christmas. As part of the Winter Sale, there will be a few game-related treats every day. Sometimes it's a free game sometimes a special discount, sometimes a quiz. But this time around, friends of first-person shooters will be getting a very special gift:
GOG is giving away access to their Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory server. So if you've ever wanted to officially team up with GOG employees or take them out in battle, now's your chance - and you might just head into the holidays a bit more relaxed.
Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory is a free-to-play, objective-based multiplayer first-person shooter set during World War II. But it's not just about fast shooting - it's also about tactical planning, strategic positioning and close cooperation with your teammates. In this action-packed game, up to 32 players can choose to fight for the Axis or the Allies across six maps inspired by historical locations. Success in the game depends heavily on teamwork:
You can choose to play as one of five unique classes - Pioneer, Medic, Soldier, Field Commander or Saboteur - each with their own set of skills and tasks. As a Pioneer, you can build bridges or plant explosives, while the Medic keeps the team alive and the Soldier carries the brunt of the battle. The Field Commander coordinates the team and the Saboteur does everything possible to infiltrate enemy lines and destroy key targets.
To get free access to the game, simply log in to GOG and click on the Winter Sale Calendar. You'll then be given all the information you need to log in to the server. The servers will be running for one week, until the 27th of December at 2 pm UTC, so make the most of this opportunity to enjoy some good old-fashioned Wolfenstein fun.
