The Quinfall boasts an expansive open world spanning over 2,000 km², dwarfing well-known MMOs like World of Warcraft (207 km²) and Elder Scrolls Online (400 km²). The map is divided into five distinct regions, featuring diverse climate zones, changing seasons and dynamic weather.
The game introduces a non-target combat system centered on medieval warfare, including PvP skirmishes, castle sieges and naval battles. True to MMO tradition, it also offers a variety of professions, a dynamic trading economy and the ability to construct personal homes or clan islands. Players can deeply customize their characters and make impactful choices that shape the story’s direction.
The narrative focuses on the conflict between the gods Pelyonas and the dragonborn Greis and Kreas, who vie for control of a cursed crown. Amid a world fractured by civil war, players must decide whether to fuel the chaos or strive for peace. A 20-minute video on The Quinfall’s official YouTube channel provides a first glimpse of the game, showcasing gameplay and announcing its upcoming Early Access.
The comments section reveals mixed opinions. While some appreciate the nostalgic "old school" MMORPG feel, others point out issues like unpolished animations and sluggish harvesting mechanics. However, since The Quinfall is still in development, there's plenty of time to address these concerns.
Early Access in January
Announced in 2023, The Quinfall entered its first closed beta in January 2024. On January 24, 2025, the game will open its doors to all players with the launch of Early Access, marking just four years of development. This phase is expected to run for six months. Players can already add the MMO to their Steam wish lists.
Community between hope and skepticism
While MMO fans are excited for The Quinfall, some skepticism remains. Vawraek Technology Inc., the studio behind the game, was only established in January 2021 and has yet to produce a successful title. Their first project, Kayra Online, was discontinued, raising doubts within the community about whether the team can fulfill The Quinfall's ambitious promises. Concerns focus particularly on the vast size of the open world and the relatively short development timeline.
