First Xiaomi 12T details revealed in new leak with a Dimensity 8100 potentially on the cards
Word of the Xiaomi 12T Pro have slowly surfaced in recent months, with the phone expected to offer both a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 and 120 W charging. The vanilla Xiaomi 12T exists as well, and initial details of that phone have now also appeared.
The Xiaomi 12T will debut alongside the Xiaomi 12T Pro later in the year. According to Xiaomiui, the phone bears the codename "Plato". Supposedly, the 12T will come with 8 GB of RAM across the board, although buyers will be able to choose between 128 GB and 256 GB of storage.
Xiaomiui seems to indicate that the Xiaomi 12T will be powered by a MediaTek chipset, as last year's Xiaomi 11T featured a Dimensity 1200. While that may turn out to be true, it's important to point out that the Mi 10T and Mi 9T both had Qualcomm chipsets—the Snapdragon 865 and Snapdragon 730 respectively. That said, a MediaTek chipset makes plenty of sense on the Xiaomi 12T. If Xiaomi goes that route, it's likely that the Xiaomi 12T features a Dimensity 8100 instead of the Dimensity 9000 or Dimensity 9000+.
There is, of course, also a chance that the Xiaomi 12T uses the same chipset as the 12T Pro. Both Mi 10T models did, for example. According to Mukul Sharma, the Xiaomi 12T will feature a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, a 120 Hz AMOLED, 120 W charging, and OIS.
