Word on the grapevine claims Xiaomi is set to debut the Xiaomi 12T series either this month or next. While the Xiaomi 12T Pro has received a lot more attention until now, details of the vanilla Xiaomi 12T now appear to have leaked.
As revealed by Xiaomiui, the Xiaomi 12T, codenamed "Plato", will feature a display with a resolution of 1220x2712. That's somewhere between FHD+ and QHD+. It's worse than the Redmi K50 series' QHD+ displays but better than the Xiaomi 11T's. That panel can be expected to be a 120 Hz AMOLED. The 12T, as we previously reported, looks set to be equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 8100. Sources claim this could be a "Dimensity 8100 Ultra", perhaps like OnePlus's Dimensity 8100-Max. Additionally, it's expected to ship with up to 8 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
Camera-wise, the Xiaomi 12T looks set to be one of the first devices to feature Samsung's 108 MP ISOCELL HM6. The Xiaomi 11T was equipped with the HM2. The ISOCELL HM6 is an interesting choice, as it's smaller than HM2, with smaller pixels as well. Comparing both sensors, the older HM2 flat-out appears to be better. Either way, the 108 MP camera will be joined by an 8 MP ultra-wide shooter, a 2 MP macro camera, and the 20 MP selfie camera from the Redmi K50 Pro.
Xiaomi is yet to confirm or even tease the Xiaomi 12T series, but the duo can be expected to debut in September at the latest. The Xiaomi 12T Pro is tipped to be a global rebadge of the upcoming Redmi K50 Ultra or Redmi K50S Pro. The Xiaomi 12T, on the other hand, looks set to be a global exclusive, and will likely not even be sold in India.
