Rumor | OPPO Reno8 series is coming to India in July 2022 - with a catch

OPPO is now tipped to endorse rumors of international availability for its latest Reno-series smartphones by releasing them in India soon. MySmartPrice claims to have learned that the OEM will hold a launch for the devices on July 18, 2022. However, the devices revealed on this date may not be the exact same as might be expected.

The Reno8 series originally debuted in vanilla, Pro and Pro+ flavors; however, it seems the Indian market might not be getting 1 of them. Unfortunately, it is the one with the newest processor: the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 found in the Pro model.

Accordingly, since it is apparently not coming to India, the Reno8 Pro+ is now tipped to become the 8 Pro for the Indian market, whereas the Dimensity 1300-powered variant will remain the vanilla 8.

On the other hand, the "new Pro" has allegedly managed to hang on to its Dimensity 8100-MAX platform - which might mean it will still be the first mid-ranger to also rock the OPPO-exclusive MariSilicon X co-processor for its Sony IMX766 main camera.

In other news, OPPO has reportedly introduced a new "Iris Purple" colorway for the 8 series; however, whether this new option is also coming to the putative new Indian product event remains to be seen.
