OPPO Find N2 and its clamshell counterpart are tipped to go ahead at the expense of the OEM's rollable device project
OPPO announced the Find N as its inaugural flexible-display smartphone, and is now projected to release at least one more in 2022. Now, the eminent leaker Digital Chat Station is back with new word on these devices.
The well-known tipster has referred to one of them as the "Find N2" for the first time, thereby suggesting that it will launch with a form-factor quite similar to the inaugural N, not to mention potential competitors such as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 or Xiaomi Mix Fold 2.
Digital Chat Station also now lends more weight to the idea that this 'N2' might debut alongside a first-gen device designed to rival others such as the Galaxy Z Flip4 or Huawei P50 Pocket in 2022. However, it seems that in following this trend, OPPO may have left another promising device by the wayside.
The X (2021) was unveiled as the OEM's latest rollable-device concept at a time at which it was projected that its emerging category might take over from the foldables of today. However, according to Digital Chat Station, while an updated prototype with an improved screen and inner workings exists, it is still far from actual mass-production.
Therefore, those who aspire to move on to this new form-factor instead might still face a wait through the possible foldable boom ahead of them.
