Fenix has announced the Pro version of the E06R. While the E06R that was unveiled back in February is a keychain flashlight, the E06R Pro is more of a regular EDC flashlight. For now, the new model is only being teased on Fenix’s official Instagram channel.
Nonetheless, the short teaser video already makes it clear in which direction this flashlight is going. It appears to be a 4-in-1 flashlight with a laser, which will most likely be a Class 1 laser in Europe and a Class 3R laser in other regions. In addition to the laser, the flashlight likely sports a floodlight and a more focused beam, as indicated by the selector switch that appears in the video. The fourth light source is not that obvious, but it might be a UV light.
This means that Fenix E06R Pro follows the current trends in the EDC segment. Similar flashlights include the Acebeam K1, Olight’s new ArkPro series as well as the Nitecore EDC17. Except for Acebeam, the competing products have a flat design with an integrated and non-removable battery, just like E06R Pro.
Another interesting aspect about the design is the large number of switches. This should make it easier to use the flashlight, but it also adds some complexity. Also notable is the illuminated ring around one of the switches, which is also found on the smaller E06R, Meanwhile, two LEDs on the back look like they could either be signal lights or battery indicators.
The latest Fenix flashlight will be officially unveiled on November 25, which is when the company will likely also reveal the official price point.
