Olight’s Javelot Turbo 2 has received an upgrade to USB Type-C while retaining its MCC port for charging via a magnetic cable. The flashlight can be controlled with a 2.4GHz remote.

Olight has officially unveiled the Javelot Turbo 2 at IWA 2025 in Germany. The rather large flashlight was presented to the public at a corresponding press conference. The gadget utilizes a proprietary battery format consisting of two connected 21700 batteries, which can be charged via a magnetic MCC cable or USB Type-C.

Olight stated that the flashlight can be charged faster via USB. The port itself is located near the head and is covered by a metal flap. Forgetting to put the flap back on is not an issue since the Javelot Turbo 2 still meets IP67 standards, even when the port is exposed. Unfortunately, an MCC charging cable is not included in the box.

The battery itself has a capacity of 36Wh and operates at 7.2 volts, according to the official spec sheet. 5,000mAh is printed on the battery, but since there are two 3.6-volt cells involved, Olight officially advertises the new flashlight with 10,000mAh.

At just 15 lumens, the battery provides enough energy for a runtime of 272 hours and a throw of almost 150 yards. The flashlight’s maxed-out setting can be used for four minutes and offers range of 1,640 yards. Afterward, the light is throttled to 800 and later 600 lumens, which are available for another 130 and 120 minutes, respectively. Overall, the flashlight lasts at least 254 minutes on a full charge. The highest constant output is specified at 150 lumens, in which case the Olight Javelot Turbo 2 has a runtime of up to 30 hours.

Another addition is the new remote control that can control the flashlight via the 2.4GHz band. The remote can be magnetically attached to the flashlight. Although the magnet is quite strong, users might want to store or carry the remote separately, which also increases the risk of leaving it behind. The new Olight flashlight is also available as a kit with filters and a fitting carrying case.

As usual, Olight is already granting a launch discount on the new Javelot Turbo 2. The flashlight can be ordered for prices starting at $169, but several bundles and kits with additional accessories are available for an according surcharge.
