Acebeam has introduced a new flashlight at IWA in Germany. It offers multiple LEDs in a compact design. However, the UC25 is still a work in progress, as evidenced by the unfinished design of the new EDC flashlight.
At IWA 2025 in Nuremberg, Germany, Acebeam has previewed a new USB flashlight for EDC use cases. As it stands now, the UC25 offers a spotlight for precise illumination, an LED that acts as a floodlight, a laser pointer and multiple rows of multicolored LEDs integrated into the handle.
These different light sources can be selected via a rotary switch with a button, which is reminiscent of Olight's Arkfeld series of flashlights. There is another switch on the back that can be used for additional adjustments. It should be noted that the flashlight is still in development, and that the prototype’s software for the switches wasn’t working reliably.
Since the Acebeam UC25 is not a finished product, its technical specifications are not final yet. For example, Acebeam apparently considers removing the multicolored LEDs in the handle. Acebeam’s presentation contained some animations, which looked like this feature would be more suitable for a party light.
On the other hand, these LEDs could also be used as an ambient light, but they are located in an area that is not ideal for this use case. On the other side of the UC25, there is a belt clip that can also be used to attach the flashlight to a hat, which can be useful while working in the dark.
Last but not least, the flashlight seemed light and robust enough for tough work environments. It remains to be seen if and how Acebeam will adjust the final design of the UC25. A price and launch date for the new EDC gadget have not been announced thus far.
