The Acebeam X20 is a particularly powerful but also quite chunky flashlight that’s available in two variants with a throw of 481 or 705 yards. This gadget is powered by two replaceable 18650 batteries that are installed side by side, which results in a rather odd shape.
Acebeam has introduced a new and pretty thick flashlight called the X20. It houses two 18650 batteries which sit side by side. While the head of the X20 is round as usual, Acebeam has decided to use a flattened handle. The flashlight weighs around 10.6 ounces and is about 5.5 inches long, as can be seen in the official spec sheet.
The aforementioned batteries are replaceable, but they don’t have to be removed from the X20 and can be charged via USB-C. Furthermore, there is a sliding switch that locks the flashlight and prevents it from turning on unintentionally. This exact switch can also be used to switch between a tactical and duty mode.
The tactical mode offers quick access to brighter modes including strobe, while the duty mode offers more choices but requires to cycle through them. Anyhow, the new Acebeam flashlight is quite robust and comes with IP68 certification. The X20 is water-resistant and can be submerged in 6.6ft of water for up to 30 minutes.
This flashlight is equipped with 8 LEDs overall, but there are differences depending on the model variant. While one version comes with a throw of 705 yards and focuses on high candela, the other one has more lumens but a shorter throw of just 481 yards. In both cases, the brightest modes can only be used for 50 seconds, and both SKUs emit cool white with 6,500K. The battery life for both variants of the Acebeam X20 can be found in the images below. Last but not least, the flashlight carries an official price tag of $149.
