FCC documents reveal specs of the Supernote E-Ink modular tablet
Back in September, we reported that Supernote has an E Ink tablet with modular features coming soon. Now more details have surfaced, revealing key specifications of the device which will launch as the Supernote A5 X2.
The leaked specs of the Supernote tablet come from an FCC listing that was first spotted on Reddit according to a report by Android Police. It was previously revealed the tablet will have a 10.7-inch display with a 300ppi. Now, the document has revealed it is actually a 10.65-inch Carta 1300 E Ink display with a 1920 x 2560 resolution.

The Supernote A5 X2 will be powered by a Rockchip RK3566 processor, a quad-core chipset clocked at 1.8GHz. It will be paired with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, and unlike the Amazon Kindle Scribe (available on Amazon for $339), there's a microSD card slot for adding more storage. The documents also reveal the tablet will have a 3,600mAh battery with support for 5V 2A (10W) charging.
In addition to the specs are a handful of images of the device. One image shows the tablet next to a USB-C cable and a screwdriver. The latter should be for taking apart the device when swapping parts such as the motherboard or the battery.
Another image shows the Supernote A5 X2 has pogo pins on one side which could be for a keyboard accessory. Supernote doesn't offer a keyboard accessory for any of its current eReaders, but there's a possibility it may intend to start doing so now.
The A5 X2 has support for stylus input but there isn't a stylus in any of the images which might mean that one doesn't come in the box. Nevertheless, there are a handful of pens on the manufacturer's website, so buyers can purchase one alongside the tablet. It also won't come with a charger in the box.
The Supernote A5 X2 will ship with Chauvet, a custom OS based on Android that is designed for note taking. The tablet still doesn't have a release date, but there's a chance it will arrive before the end of the year.
