Honor reveals core specs of its new GT Pro gaming tablet

Honor announced the Tablet GT Pro a few days back, and it's set to be released in China on October 16. The company didn't reveal much during the initial announcement, but now, the brand has shared the core specs of the gaming tablet. As initially speculated, the core specs match that of another tablet, the Honor MagicPad 2.

For example, the Tablet GT Pro is now confirmed to feature a 12.3-inch OLED screen with a 144 Hz refresh rate, 1920x3000 pixels resolution, and a 180 Hz touch sampling rate. This is essentially the same display as the MagicPad 2, which Honor launched in July of this year.

Under the hood, the Honor Tablet GT Pro features the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, the same SoC that powers the MagicPad 2. This isn't the most capable SoC currently available, but it resides just below the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and can handle games relatively well.

Another core spec of the Tablet GT Pro is the battery. The upcoming gaming tablet packs a 10,000 mAh battery with 66W fast charging support (100W Anker GaN II charger curr. $49.99 on Amazon). This also matches the battery of the Honor MagicPad 2. Of course, the official photos do show some differences. For example, the rear design is different, and they have a distinguishable camera island.

Pricing details of the Tablet GT Pro are still under wraps, but the MagicPad 2 launched with a starting price of CNY 2999, approximately $424. The upcoming gaming tablet should have a similar launch price, and like its close sibling, it will likely also make a global debut.
