Elegoo Centauri 2 series makes CoreXY multi-color 3D printing even cheaper

With the Centauri Carbon 2 Combo, Elegoo brought multi-color 3D printing to the masses at a much more affordable price point. It followed up by making its multi-color printing system – Canvas – a separate attachment that can upgrade the original Centauri Carbon. Now, the company has released an even cheaper version of the Centauri Carbon 2.
Elegoo Centauri 2 series features
There is essentially one new printer, the Centauri 2, but it can be purchased with the Canvas Combo and without it. The only difference between the two is the Canvas system. These are essentially toned-down Centauri Carbon 2s, without the enclosed chamber. The Centauri 2 features the same bed size at 256x256x256 mm and a max print speed of up to 500 mm/s as the Carbon 2. It comes with 121-point bed-leveling, a brass-hardened steel nozzle with a 350 degree C temperature limit, and a heated bed with a 110 degree C max. The Centauri 2 also retains the 5-inch screen with Wi-Fi connectivity features.
Because of the lack of an enclosure, more challenging filaments like ABS, ASA, PA-CF, and others are not recommended. Some of the other compromises include a lack of a camera, lighting, or air filtration.
Elegoo Centauri 2 series pricing and availability
The Centauri 2 Combo is priced at $350 and includes the Canvas system that enables four-color printing, RFID filament detection, auto refill, and auto tangle detection. At this price, it is $100 cheaper than the Centauri Carbon 2 Combo. The Canvas-less package is priced at $299, putting it at $50 cheaper than the Centauri Carbon 2. Elegoo also says there are optional expansions for the Centauri 2 series, including a smart exhaust grill, camera, air filter, and LED lighting.
