EcoFlow has released its Smart Plug, compatible with the Matter standard. You can use the gadget to turn household appliances into smart products, integrating with many smart home systems, including Apple Home, Amazon Alexa and Google Home. Features include voice controls and remote power consumption tracking.

The EcoFlow Smart Plug has launched in Europe. The gadget can make any regular device smart, allowing you to control the device remotely. Thanks to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, you can pair the device to your smartphone for app-based controls. Alternatively, you can adjust the device with voice commands.

The EcoFlow Smart Plug is Matter-compliant, meaning it can integrate with Apple, Amazon, Google, Samsung and other smart home systems. The gadget allows you to set schedules and timers for home appliances and monitor energy consumption in real-time. This could help you to track patterns and reduce your consumption. Plus, the plug is compatible with the brand’s PowerStream Microinverter, which allows you to intelligently optimize energy delivery with an auto-allocation tool, storing surplus in a connected portable power station.

The 110-250V 10A plug has a 2-year warranty and measures 52 x 50 x 55 mm (~2.0 x 2.0 x 2.2-in). The company suggests the compact device is easy to set up, with safety features including over-temperature and overload protection. You can now buy the EcoFlow Smart Plug in the UK for £34 or in the EU in countries like the Netherlands and Germany for €36. Whether or when the gadget could launch in other markets, such as the US, remains unclear.
