Not to be confused with the higher-end 13.3-inch XPS 13 7390 2-in-1 or 15.6-inch XPS 15 7590, Dell will be launching the mid-range 13.3-inch Inspiron 13 7390 2-in-1, 15.6-inch Inspiron 15 7591 2-in-1, and 17.3-inch Inspiron 17 7791 2-in-1 by the end of next month. These affordable systems will come equipped with Whiskey Lake-U or Comet Lake-U CPUs up to the Core i7-10510U depending on the configuration.
The most notable feature of the new Inspiron family will be its "Pen Garage" recess for holding the active stylus. As shown by the images below, the recess is positioned between the hinges as opposed to the "push-pin" approach of the Lenovo Yoga C930 series or the edge magnetic approach of the Dell XPS 15 9575 series. The Pen Garage is more secure than the latter while allowing for thicker and more natural stylus designs than the former.
The 17.3-inch Inspiron 17 7000 2-in-1 will lack the Pen Garage and so this feature is exclusive on the Inspiron 13 2-in-1 and Inspiron 15 2-in-1 for now.
The Inspiron 13, 15, and 17 7000 2-in-1 will all be launching first in EMEA on August 22 for a starting price of 949€. Users in North America won't see these convertible laptops until October 1st for a starting price of $849 USD. Check out the official product images and spec sheets below to learn more about the refreshed series.
