Leaks regarding DJI's next action camera are heating up after a period of cooling in recent weeks. To recap, DJI expanded its action camera series first with the Osmo 360 over the summer and then a month ago with the tiny Osmo Nano (curr. $299 on Amazon). Now, it appears that the company is on the cusp of introducing the Osmo Action 6 globally.
In the meantime, DJI may treat fans to the Neo 2 and Osmo Mobile 8, the latter of which is now available in China. Based on recent leaks, the Neo 2 is not far behind either. A new post by Igor Bogdanov indicates that the Osmo Action 6 will soon be upon us, too.
Reproduced above, the new image is the first true promotional shot of the Osmo Action 6 that DJI will use in its marketing. Previously, only images with white backgrounds had emerged. While the new photo does not show the Osmo Action 6 in focus, it suggests that the camera will last around 2 hours on its 1,950 mAh battery when recording 4K footage at 30 FPS.
Moreover, it seems that Bogdanov is teasing that more Osmo Action 6 leaks could be in store soon, given that they are unlikely to have received this image in isolation. Currently, DJI is expected to replace the Osmo Action 5 Pro early next month. While launch pricing is estimated to land at around $329, the Osmo Action 6 should gain a new 1/1.1-inch CMOS camera sensor with a f/2.0-f/4.0 variable aperture.
