Less than 24 hours have passed since Igor Bogdanov shared a new image of the Osmo Action 6. As we have covered separately, the action camera differs in a few crucial areas from the one that the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) highlighted in a submission earlier this year. Based on newer leaks, it seems that the FCC only revealed an Osmo Action 6 prototype rather than a retail unit.
From these new images, we can clearly determine that DJI has equipped its next action camera with a 1/1.1-inch CMOS sensor while retaining the 155° field of view (FoV) of the Osmo Action 5 Pro (curr. $349 on Amazon). Arguably, a larger sensor would be enough of an upgrade alone. However, the inscription also indicates that the Osmo Action 6 will feature an f/2.0-f/4.0 variable aperture.
Unheard of for an action camera, this variable aperture will be joined by a 1,950 mAh battery that is tipped to provide up to 4 hours of battery life. All this hardware is rumoured to start at approximately $329 in the US, too. According to The New Camera, something Osmo Action 6-related is 'scheduled to go live before November 10, 2025'. Thus, one can reasonably expect that DJI will officially present the Osmo Action 6 sometime early next month.
