Brand-new Huawei MatePad Air will launch globally soon

A global Huawei launch event will take place on Tuesday, July 14. The company has now released the teaser image embedded below, which confirms that the Huawei MatePad Air (2026) will be announced at this launch event. The image shows that Huawei has updated the design compared to the MatePad Air (2024) and the MatePad Air (2025) .
Huawei is primarily revamping the camera module, which houses a single lens and an LED flash and protrudes further from the body than on its immediate predecessor. The inscription on the camera module confirms that it features a 50-megapixel main camera. The tablet features a slightly curved frame that blends seamlessly into the back. The body will be available in silver, pink, or light blue. The images suggest that Huawei has included quad speakers, and the selfie camera is discreetly positioned in the narrow bezel.
Huawei apparently offers the tablet with a stylus and a keyboard case, though the latter does not include a touchpad. As in previous years, the tablet is likely to be positioned as a competitor to the Apple iPad Air ($469 on Amazon). No further details regarding the MatePad Air (2026)’s specifications are known at this time. Last year’s model featured a 12-inch IPS panel in a 3:2 aspect ratio with a resolution of 2,800 x 1,840 pixels and a refresh rate of 144 Hz, a 10,000 mAh battery, 66-watt fast charging, and a 5.9-millimeter-thin aluminum chassis.
