Ayaneo has expanded its retro-inspired handheld series with a new version of the Pocket DMG. Only a visual refresh, the Pocket DMG Limited Edition Bright Silver also comes with a cheaper price tag than other versions of the Pocket DMG (curr. $511 on Amazon).
As the images throughout show, the new model adopts a polished silver finish that contrasts with the black, white and 'Retro Color' versions in which the Pocket DMG has been available until now. Ultimately, the Bright Silver variant still features Qualcomm's Snapdragon G3x Gen 2 platform at its core rather than the newer Snapdragon G3 Gen 3 underpinning the Pocket S2.
Nonetheless, this chipset still makes the Pocket Silver considerably more powerful than competing vertical gaming handhelds, including the upcoming Anbernic RG477V. Moreover, the Bright Silver option leverages a high-resolution 3.92-inch OLED display that outputs at 1,240 x 1,080 pixels with a 6,000 mAh battery at its disposal.
Currently, regular versions of the Pocket DMG start at $449. Meanwhile, the new Bright Silver option can be picked up for $339 with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. Alternatively, Ayaneo sells the new colour option for $419 with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Please see Ayaneo's website for more details.
