Although the VivoBook Pro N580VD excels for performance, the display is substandard and other faults keep it from being an easy recommendation.

The ASUS VivoBook Pro 15 N580VD is a tremendous leap forward compared to what seems to be its predecessor – the ASUS N552VX, except in terms of image quality. The presented panel here drags behind its predecessor in terms of brightness, color accuracy and sRGB coverage although, the latter won’t be noticed, especially with a naked eye, since the difference is merely a few percents. Still, we can’t get past the fact that the display uses PWM for regulating screen brightness so using our Health-Guard profile might be the smart thing to do if you experience fatigue or other kinds of effects from the high-frequency PWM.

The VivoBook Pro's speedy CPU, powerful GPU and colorful screen deliver a solid experience to users for a reasonable price. Unfortunately, it's up to a pound heavier than competing machines, has a lower-res screen and can't make it 5 hours on a single charge.

Asus VivoBook Pro 15 Review – The Asus VivoBook line of laptops spans the entire spectrum of users. From the slim and affordable VivoBook S to the VivoBook Flip that’s even smaller and built for all sorts of contortions and use cases, to the VivoBook Pro, designed to combine portability with power.

If you're looking for a gaming laptop that costs less and has a better GPU, the New Dell 15 7000 Gaming is a good option. Though it's heavier than the VivoBook, weighing closer to six pounds, you're getting a 1060 GTX graphics card for about $200 less. Plus, the black on black design doesn't look too shabby either. I'm not saying the VivoBook is a bad laptop (quite the opposite, actually), but it might not work for everyone.

This Intel-variant of the VivoBook Pro 15 series is not as well balanced as the AMD models, as Asus opted to implement an Intel H35 that cannot properly compete in multi-core performance or efficiency with the Ryzen hardware. There's still value in the base-level configuration with Iris Xe graphics, but once you step up to the higher-specced models with Nvidia dGPUs, the AMD configurations become the obvious choice. We'll explain why in the detailed review down below.

Asus offers this in either affordable configurations with Radeon graphics, or more powerful units with 8C Ryzen processors and an RTX 3050 chip, and both are perfectly capable of handling everyday multitasking and regular school/work loads, as well as some gaming on the side. Overall, this is an excellent device. The OLED display does have its downsides, but the contrast ratio of OLED is hard to ignore. The Vivobook Pro 15 is well-built, stylish, thin, light, and packed with some great component choices. Perhaps the best part of all is the price though. At $1100 USD for the Ryzen 7 model with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of SSD storage, it is certainly one of the most affordable ways to get into an OLED notebook. If you know how to treat the OLED right, this notebook will easily return the favor. It is a joy to use, and the display, despite its downsides, is wonderful.

Your opinion on the Asus Vivobook Pro 15 OLED will have everything to do with what a Pro laptop means to you. If you view Pro as a signifier of performance, you won't be disappointed. The Vivobook Pro 15 OLED isn't screaming fast but performs well for its price and includes a top-tier display as a bonus. Asus is delivering a lot of value. If you want it for professional work, be wary. It makes unfortunate connectivity choices including a hampered USB-C port and a Micro SD reader instead of full-sized SD. The display's meager 1080p resolution could be a problem, too. Still, the Vivobook's performance makes it a good choice if you want a fast mid-range laptop that won't clean out your wallet. It's especially appealing for students and frequent fliers who need a well-rounded laptop for gaming, streaming, and day-to-day productivity.

We can comfortably say that the Vivobook Pro 15 OLED (K3500) delivers on its promises. Indeed, one of the most expensive items inside it is the display. This is why we see two USB Type-A 2.0 ports, instead of 3.2. However, you still get Thunderbolt 4 connection, so we think that the compromise is definitely worth it. Now, the lack of memory expansion options is a bit of a bummer, but if you configure your machine with the 16GB offer, you should be good to go for the next couple of years. Battery life is on point, as the 63Wh unit lasts for 10 hours and a half of Web browsing, or around 9 hours of video playback. This should allow you to get through an entire workday of light use without the need for a charger. ASUS Vivobook Pro 15 OLED (K3500)’s AMOLED panel has a Full HD resolution, high maximum brightness, and comfortable viewing angles. The nature of the panel means that you get a practically infinite contrast ratio and a super-fast pixel response time. In addition, it fully covers both the sRGB and the DCI-P3 color gamuts, which makes the image look really attractive.

It looks like the ASUS Vivobook Pro 15 OLED (M3500) is a more than decent offer. In terms of hardware, you can choose between 6-core and 8-core AMD Zen 3 CPUs – if you don’t need too much processor power the AMD Ryzen 5 5600H is a good all-rounder that can do the job in most situations. Overall, the ASUS Vivobook Pro 15 OLED (M3500) is a solid package – the build quality is decent for its price tag, the keyboard/touchpad combo is good for everyday usе, there is an optional OLED panel, and four other IPS variants if you want to save some bucks. The AMD Zen 3 CPU options come with great performance and efficiency, and that’s why the battery life is great too.

So, at the end of the day, this exact spec of the Vivobook Pro 15 OLED that we have is priced at RM5,199. I honestly think it’s an okay price to pay if you can live with the glaring shortcomings of this laptop. However, I also think that the Ryzen 9 5900HX is overkill. Getting the Ryzen 7 5700H version is a much better option, and at the lower price of RM4,799 too. Everything else remains the same.

Surprisingly, or not, the Vivobook Pro 15 OLED (K6502) offers the perfect combination of quality and compromise. It has a very sleek chassis, which is really hiding what resides on the inside. The Alder Lake H-series CPUs are utilized to a satisfactory extent, while the RTX 3050 and RTX 3050 Ti will bring even more to the table. Thanks to the MUX switch, you will be able to get every single frame processed by the dedicated GPU – displayed on the screen. And this display is definitely one worth gaming and working on. Noise cancellation has not been overlooked either. In fact, the “MyASUS” app is now more populated than ever. And if you want a touch more customization options – the ProArt Creator Hub is there to help you. To summarize – this is probably the perfect laptop for people who delve into content creation, writers, and occasional gamers. If you are all of the aforementioned – waste no more time, go buy yourself a Vivobook Pro 15 OLED (K6502)… and perhaps a pair of good headphones.

Yes, if you want a laptop with a good Intel processor, but don’t want to pay above Rs 1 lakh and don’t need something lightweight. Yes, if you are in the market for a big-screen laptop in the 15-inch plus category. Yes, if you are in the market for a Windows 11 laptop with good specifications and enough RAM and storage. No, if you want something lighter and with a flexible form factor, especially in the Windows universe. I would say you should prepare to pay a slightly high price if you want a lighter Windows 11 laptop with premium specifications.

If you are looking for a high-end laptop with a big display, a powerful processor, and amazingly loud speakers, the Vivobook Pro 15 OLED is worth considering. As long as you do not have a budget constraint, Asus’ new laptop makes sense for most customers. Sure, it may not be the lightest laptop on the market, but then it would be up to you to see what is better for you: weight or a big display and a dedicated keyboard.

Asus’ Vivobook Pro 15 (2024) is a generally solid laptop designed for creatives and those who could do with a bit more oomph for day-to-day computing. The presence of a dedicated GPU and beefy Ryzen 9 7940HS CPU help this particular laptop to offer solid performance relative to its price, while its port selection is also fantastic against more expensive ultrabooks including the Microsoft Surface Laptop 7 for instance. Its port selection is also fantastic with a marvellous range of inputs, while the battery life is long enough to get through a working day. Charging speeds are also reasonable if you are caught short and need to charge up. With the Vivobook Pro 15 (2024), it’s the display that doesn’t hold up against other modern ultrabooks, including the OLED version of this very laptop which far exceeds it at the expense of worse battery life. This is a generally excellent laptop for its asking price, though. For more options, check out our list of the best laptops we’ve tested.

The Asus Vivobook Pro 15 is the best laptop for creatives with a budget of under $1500 to play with. It can cope with everything from advanced photo editing using the gorgeous Pantone-certified OLED display, to 3D modelling with Adobe software, and you can even finish off the day with a light gaming session too. It’s fast and reliable, but not the best if you need a premium workhorse laptop, sitting at the mid-range level of creative workstations. It doesn't have a fancy hinge or dual-monitor design like other ASUS models, but if you can live without these things and just need a machine to get you through the day, then the Vivobook won't let you down.

The new Asus Vivobook Pro 15 epitomizes a laptop designed for content creation and graphics-intensive productivity. It offers the option of two Intel Meteor Lake-H CPUs – the Ultra 7 155H or the Ultra 9 185H – and two Nvidia GPUs, the RTX4050 and the RTX4060. All models have a colorful and color-accurate 2,880 x 1,620 OLED panel with a 120hHz refresh rate and a MUX switch to maximize the GPU's potential. Only the range-topping Core Ultra 185H RTX 4060 model is currently slated for launch in the UK for £1,599 (£1,333 ex VAT). There's no news on UK availability or price for the Core Ultra 155H and RTX 4050 machines, but it's probably safe to assume they will cost around £1,300 (£1,085 ex VAT) when and if launched in Blighty. That's not a bad price when the obvious competition in the form of Apple's MacBook Pro 16 will set you back perilously close to £3,000.

The ASUS Vivobook Pro 15 OLED (N6506) is a nice surprise in its class. It’s a multipurpose device because of the powerful hardware and the great OLED display (Samsung ATNA56AC02-1 (SDC4180)). The latter has a 3K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and infinite contrast ratio which is great news for all users. The panel is very color-accurate and it covers 100% of the sRGB and DCI-P3 gamuts. The only con of this screen is the PWM usage but there is an “OLED Flicker-Free Dimming” slider in the MyASUS app. This option is a life-saver for people who are going to use the device for long hours of work or watching movies in a dimmed environment. The so-called IceCool Pro cooling system is capable. The powerful Core Ultra 9 185H and the GeForce RTX 4060 can maintain high clocks no matter the load.

Really, the only reason not to buy the ASUS Vivobook Pro 15 OLED (2024) is if you have the 2023 ASUS Vivobook Pro 15. It's an iterative but noticeable upgrade to that model, and offers a fantastic balance of performance, screen splendour and price, with graphics performance reaching into true professional territory for a price well under £2,000. It's an all-rounder, but one for someone with serious aspirations in at least one of the creative or gaming realms. The only notable downside is that the screen isn't a touchscreen, and a numpad that's just a teeny bit cramped (but just a teeny bit), and those aren't big grumbles. ASUS is on a serious roll at the moment, and the 2024 Vivobook Pro 15 OLED is another entry into a growing win column.

I recommend the Asus Vivobook Pro 15 to content creators or graphic designers who want a well-performing, relatively inexpensive work machine. The model starts at $1,299; however, at the time of this writing, it's currently going for $1,049. Another model is available with an Intel Core Ultra 9 processor, a GeForce RTX 4060 GPU, a 3K display, and an SSD with 2TB of storage. This other laptop retails for $1,699. If you want something more powerful, I suggest checking out the MSI Creator Z16 HX Studio, which you can learn about on our Best Laptops for Graphic Design list.

The Vivobook Pro 15 OLED Q533 isn’t the most exciting 15-inch or larger laptop I’ve reviewed. It’s not the most modern, it’s not the fastest, and it doesn’t have a single standout feature that made writing this review a lot of fun. What it does have, though, is a very attractive price and enough performance and display quality for anyone who wants to do some lightweight creative work on the go. You could spend a lot more and get a much better laptop. But, you don’t have to when you can spend a lot less for more than good enough.

This year’s update to Asus’ Vivobook Pro 15 makes one thing obvious: the days when you had to pay over £2,000 for a powerful mobile workstation are gone. Packed inside this 1.8kg monster you’ll find Intel’s top-end Core Ultra 9 185H processor and GeForce RTX 4060 graphics, and with Nvidia’s Studio software it’s ready to go with a bunch of professional apps. Asus certainly has its eye on designers here, even building a dial into the top left of the touchpad. If you’re dexterous enough to keep within its 3cm diameter then you can use it to whizz through timelines in Premiere Pro, adjust brush sizes in Photoshop and switch font sizes in PowerPoint. It’s no replacement for a hardware dial, but could be a time-saver on the move.

The Vivobook Pro 15 2025 doesn’t break any speed records for a 15-inch laptop, but that’s okay. To get much faster, you’ll have to spend a lot more money — and you won’t necessarily get as spectacular an OLED display. It’s fast enough for the most demanding productivity users, can keep up with moderate creativity workflows, and play modern titles at 1200p with decent graphics. For $1,500, that’s a pretty good deal. My biggest gripe is the plastic construction, but that’s no reason to overlook the Vivobook Pro 15.

The Asus Vivobook Pro 15 (N6506, 2025) starts throwing punches with its strong overall performance, colorful OLED display, and super comfortable keyboard and touchpad. However, it takes one too many hits with its short battery life and low-end GPU for its price. If you are looking for a superior creator laptop, consider one of the best laptops for Photoshop or best laptops for video editing, and if gaming is more of a priority for you, then the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 is longer lasting and more powerful for a little more money. It’s even far more portable. Despite that, the Asus Vivobook Pro 15 does offer unique features with its Asus Dial. I’m not a fan, but it may fill someone’s niche.
