The Asus VivoBook Flip 14 TP410UA-EC242T is a 14-inch convertible in its product range, which is powered by a Kaby Lake processor. The VivoBook Flip 14 comes with a bright, contrast-rich IPS display, a fast SSD and a backlit keyboard. With stylus support, fingerprint sensor and extensive connectivity, the TP410UA is ideal for a wide variety of productivity, entertainment, and creative applications. As for design, the ASUS VivoBook Flip 14 offers ingenious multi-functionality and high mobility with its elegant aluminum design. The case of the VivoBook Flip is made mostly of plastic. Only the back of the display lid is made of metal. The touchscreen can be used with one’s fingers as well as the separately available Asus Pen. The touchpad of the TP410UA incorporates a fingerprint sensor. A user can just log in without additional password input via Windows Hello to the notebook. The 14-inch touch-enabled display of the VivoBook Flip operates with a native resolution of 1,920 x 1,080. Brightness (307.6 cd/m2) and contrast ratio (1,422:1) are also in good order. The TP410UA's FHD NanoEdge touch display, which rotates freely through 360°, has particularly narrow screen edges. This makes it possible to integrate a large 14-inch wide-view display into a compact 13-inch housing. The display pleases the eye with very stable viewing angles too. With its four modes of operation, notebook, tablet, stand or tent, the VivoBook Flip 14 always adapts to the user’s life and requirements. And no matter how they use the flip, they can always use the Windows ASUS Pen or any other Active Stylus accessory with numerous Windows Ink applications. For a wide range of applications, the VivoBook Flip 14 is equipped with a 7th generation Intel Core processor, efficient 8 GB DDR4 RAM, and fast a 256 GB SSD. Right out of the box, only 206 GB are available to the user. The Windows installation files and the recovery partition take up the rest of the storage space. However, it still offers more than enough performance for usage scenarios such as office work and Internet browsing. As for graphics processor, it features the Intel HD Graphics 620 GPU, which supports DirectX 12 and has a maximum core clock of 1,000 MHz. The GPU of the device is an entry-level model and can only achieve playable frame rates in games with low system requirements. The convertible offers a good selection of ports. Besides three USB Type-A ports (one USB 3.1 Gen 1 port, two USB 2.0 ports), the device also features one USB Type-C port (USB 3.1 Gen 1). A video output (HDMI) is available. The built-in SD card-reader can be used without any hassle. The Wi-Fi module comes from Intel (Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265). <p>The ASUS VivoBook Flip 14 is the first 14-inch convertible laptop to feature the ultra-narrow ASUS NanoEdge bezel, allowing its 14-inch Full HD display to fit into a frame that is the size of a typical 13-inch laptop. The slim and lightweight VivoBook Flip 14 is designed to suit any occasion. A user can use it as a stylish laptop, a handy tablet, or anything in between. Its Intel Core i7 processor sails through everyday tasks with ease. The housing of the VivoBook Flip is mostly made of plastic. Only the back of the lid is made of metal. There is nothing to complain about processing. With a 2.03 cm (0.8 inch) profile and an overall weight of 1.59 kg (3.5 lb), it is one of the most portable 14-inch convertible laptops around. The VivoBook Flip comes with a lighted Chiclet keyboard. The flat, smooth keys have a short stroke and a clear pressure point. In the upper right corner of the ClickPad, users will find the fingerprint reader. The VivoBook Flip 14 is designed for ultimate touch experiences. Its high-precision touch sensors spaced at 6 mm intervals ensure greater sensitivity over standard displays, so even the subtlest touches are detected. VivoBook Flip 14 also works perfectly with the ASUS Pen. The ASUS SonicMaster technology, co-developed by the ASUS Golden Ear team and ICEpower delivers incredible audio, thanks to its innovative combination of hardware and software.</p>
<p>Fitting a 14-inch Full HD display into a frame size that is typical of a 13-inch laptop is not easy, but the ultra-narrow 8 mm NanoEdge bezel makes it possible. With its NanoEdge design, the VivoBook Flip 14 features an incredible 78.7 % screen-to-body ratio and a larger display area for more immersive viewing. The Full HD display also features 178˚ wide-view technology to ensure that colors and contrast remain vivid and bold, even when viewed at sharp angles. This makes it the perfect solution for sharing content with friends and colleagues. With up to a 7th generation Intel Core i7 processor and 16 GB of RAM, the VivoBook Flip 14 provides powerful, energy-efficient performance. With up to a 1 TB HDD and 256 GB SSD storage, the VivoBook Flip 14 has more than enough space for business presentations, photo albums, and multimedia libraries. Whether users are indoors or on the move, they will get more done with the laptop. The convertible offers a decent interface selection. In addition to three type A USB slots (1x USB 3.1 Gen 1, 2x USB 2.0), the device also comes with a Type C slot (USB 3.1 Gen 1). A video output (HDMI) is available. The built-in memory card reader makes it easy to tackle. The WLAN module carries a chip from Intel (Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265). Asus: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. is a major Taiwanese computer hardware manufacturer based in Taipei, founded in 1989. Under the Asus brand name, the company manufactures a wide range of products, including laptops, desktops, motherboards, graphics cards, monitors, smartphones and networking equipment, complete systems and PC components for end users.
Under the ROG (Republic of Gamers) brand name, ASUS manufactures gaming laptops known by gamers for their powerful specifications, dedicated graphics cards, high refresh rate displays and advanced cooling systems.
Beyond gaming, a wide range of notebooks are offered for different needs and budgets, from ultra-slim and lightweight ultrabooks to versatile 2-in-1 convertibles and budget-friendly options. In 2023, Asus had a 7% global market share of the PC market.
Customer satisfaction with ASUS notebooks concerns performance, the features, and the good price-performance ratio of ASUS notebooks. However, as with any brand, there are occasional reports of problems such as overheating, driver compatibility, or build quality issues.

i3-8130U: On the Kaby-Lake architecture based dual core SoC clocked at 2.2 to 3.4 GHz with HyperThreading (4 Threads) and an integrated UHD Graphics 620 graphics card clocked at up to 1 GHz.
Intel Pentium:
Pentium N4200: An Apollo Lake family, quad-core, ultra-low-power processor (SoC) that saw the light of day in 2016. Its four CPU cores run at 1.1 GHz to 2.5 GHz; these are not Hyper-Threading-enabled meaning there are no additional threads. This chip has a fairly competent integrated graphics solution, the Intel HD Graphics 505, and eats very little (~6 W). The Pentium N4200 is based on the Goldmont CPU microarchitecture that came to replace Silvermont (2013), bringing with it several welcome improvements. The CPU is Secure Boot-compatible; technically, it will have no issue running 64-bit Windows 11. The average N4200 in our database competes with the Core i5-3339Y, a low-power SoC launched in 2013, in multi-thread performance.
Intel Core i3:
i3-8145U: Whiskey Lake based low power dual-core processor (technically identical to Kaby Lake but produced in a further improved 14nm++ process). The two cores are clocked between 2.1 and 3.9 GHz (Turbo Boost) and support HyperThreading.
AMD Renoir (Ryzen 4000 APU):
R7 4700U: A mobile Octa-Core APU with Zen 2 cores clocked at 2 to 4.1 GHz and a Vega graphics adapter with 7 CUs clocked at up to 1600 MHz. Compared to the faster 4800U, the 4700U offers a slightly lower boost clock speed and does not support SMT.
R3 4300U: Mobile Quad-Core APU using four Zen 2 cores clocked at 2.7 to 3.7 GHz and a Vega graphics adapter with 5 CUs clocked at up to 1400 MHz. The CPU does not support SMT / Hyperthreading.
Intel Comet Lake:
i5-10210U: Comet Lake based low power quad-core processor (technically identical to Whiskey Lake and still produced in 14nm++). The CPU cores can clock between 1.6 and 4.2 GHz (all 4 cores 3.9 GHz max.) with HyperThreading (8 threads). The integrated memory controller supports LPDDR4-2933 and using cTDP up/down the performance can be adjusted by the OEM (10 - 25 Watt possible, 15W default). Compared to the faster i5-10510U, the level 3 cache was reduced from 8 to 6 MB.
i3-10110U: Comet Lake based low power dual-core processor (technically identical to Whiskey Lake and still produced in 14nm++). The CPU cores can clock between 2.1 and 4.1 GHz (all 2 cores 3.7 GHz max.) with HyperThreading (4 threads). The integrated memory controller supports up to LPDDR4-2933 and using cTDP up/down the performance can be adjusted by the OEM (10 - 25 Watt possible, 15W default). The integrated graphics adapter clocks from 300 - 1000 MHz and only offers 23 instead of 24 CUs.
Intel Tiger Lake:
i5-1135G7: A quad-core, mid-range processor of Tiger Lake product family designed for use in ultra-light laptops. The i5 is manufactured on Intel's second-gen 10 nm process marketed as SuperFin and features an 80 EU Iris Xe G7 iGPU. Core i5-1135G7 has a base clock speed of 2.4 GHz as long as it is allowed to consume 28 watts.
AMD Lucienne (Zen 2, Ryzen 5000):
R5 5500U: A hexa-core APU designed for use in ultra-thin, upper mid-range laptops. The Ryzen features six Zen 2 CPU cores running at 2.1 GHz to 4.0 GHz alongside the Vega 7 graphics adapter (448 unified shaders running at up to 1,800 MHz). One could be forgiven for thinking Ryzen 5 5500U is a renamed Ryzen 5 4500U - which is not the case. Ryzen 5 5500U is most similar to Ryzen 5 4600U, the most noteworthy difference between the two being the faster iGPU model of the former.
R7 5700U: A laptop-grade APU featuring eight SMT-enabled Zen 2 cores running at 1.8 GHz to 4.3 GHz and a Vega series graphics adapter with 8 CUs clocked at up to 1,900 MHz.

14.00:
14 inch display size represents a middle ground between the small subnotebook formats and the screens of the standard 15 inch laptops.
The reason for the popularity of mid-sized displays is that this size is reasonably easy on the eyes, provides good resolutions with usable detail sizes, yet does not consume too much power and the devices can still be reasonably compact.
In the past, 14-inch devices were very rare, but now they are the standard for laptops after the 15-inchers.
