Asus Chromebook CM14 Flip review: Productivity under $300
Source: Laptop Mag
Laptops are in a constant struggle to balance price and quality. There are several poor aspects to the Asus Chromebook CM14 Flip, but when you consider that this thing is less than $300, it does enough for us to recommend it. If you need a lightweight 2-in-1 Chromebook with a sturdy exterior, a solid keyboard, and battery life that will last a full workday, you’ll be satisfied by this. If you’re in the market for something with a better display, smoother trackpad, clearer webcam, or faster specifications, we recommend looking elsewhere. The Acer Chromebook Spin 714 is more expensive at $699, but we called it our favorite Chromebook of the year thanks to a 1,440p webcam, nearly 13 hours of battery life and superior display. If you’re willing to leave those things on the table, the Asus Chromebook CM14 Flip might be worth it.

Asus Chromebook CM14 Flip Review
Source: PC Mag
We'd hoped the Asus Chromebook CM14 Flip would be a pleasant surprise considering its ultra-low price, but it isn't. Neither is it a disappointment, really: A brighter screen, peppier performance, and a stylus would all be welcome, but remember this is an under-$300 Chromebook convertible. The CM14 is a definite step up from the 11-inch, $199 Chromebooks that used to be common, and it fills a niche for cash-strapped home or classwork. Just remember to temper your expectations.
