Astounding iPhone 13 and iPhone 12 series sales establish Apple's smartphone market dominance
Apple's models typically dominate yearly smartphone sales, as the company only releases a handful of devices each year. 2021 was no different, as well, with a report by Counterpoint Research providing insight into the best-selling smartphone devices of the year.
As is the norm, Apple made a nigh-clean sweep of the rankings, with seven of the top ten being iPhones. The iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro Max, iPhone 13, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 11 landed the top five spots in that order. Samsung's Galaxy A12 comes in sixth, followed by the Redmi 9A. Eighth and ninth go to the iPhone SE 2020 and iPhone 13 Pro Max, with the Redmi 9 rounding up the top ten.
These numbers are just for 2021, so it's impressive that the iPhone 13 manages to come in third, considering it was on sale for only about four months. Again, neither the iPhone 12 Mini nor iPhone 13 Mini make appearances on this list while the iPhone SE 2020 manages to. It's safe to say that the Mini phones have disappointed sales-wise.
