A while ago, we reported that Samsung would be going all out in an attempt to make the Galaxy S22 series a resounding sales success. Those efforts seem to be paying off quite well, as new reports indicate that the Galaxy S22 series has been a smashing hit so far—in Korea, at least.
According to reports out of Samsung's home market of Korea, the Galaxy S22 series is proving to be a top-seller, with sales numbers that have seen it become the best-selling Galaxy S lineup ever, over the opening week of sales.
Supposedly, the Galaxy S22 series has recorded 1.02 million pre-orders across its first eight days on the market, effectively smashing the Galaxy S8's record of 1.004 million orders. The Galaxy S8 series was also on pre-order for 11 days, which makes the Galaxy S22 series' performance even more impressive. Day one sales of the S22 series are reported at 300,000, eclipsing the Z Fold3 and Z Flip3's 270,000.
According to Samsung, the Galaxy S22 Ultra accounts for about 60% of orders so far, which is a staggering amount. The range-topping model has been the focus of Samsung's marketing, though, and it appears that Samsung's campaign to push buyers towards the Ultra model has gone according to plan. It'll be interesting to see if order figures toe a similar line in western markets like the US, however, with Apple's iPhone 13, for example, being its best-selling model.
