The well-known Bloomberg tech contributor Mark Gurman seems to have had reason to believe that Apple would debut its newest, most unusual (and potentially most risk-ridden) product in March or possibly April of 2023. However, the Cupertino-based behemoth will now apparently wait until WWDC 2023 to unleash the alleged first-gen mixed-reality headset.
The conference's attendees may thus be first to be exposed to "all the specifics of the device" in June of this year. The rumored delay - possibly just one of the latest roadblocks in Apple's path to enter the MR market - could yet work out in the "Reality" line's favor.
Should its inaugural variant really be a WWDC 2023 headliner, its audience would be the ones at least inclined to work on the software on which its success may depend.
Apple is also now said to have made more progress in this area itself; allegedly, the first-gen Reality headset might be powerful and precise enough to support gestures or user behaviors such as air-typing, and may thus be a pro-sumer product at the least rather than an ordinary ecosystem device.
