Apple's freshly-announced official itinerary for its latest World-wide Developer's Conference (or WWDC23) includes a day-long Special Event in addition to the usual keynote speech and State of the Union address. The augmented schedule has re-ignited speculation that the Cupertino giant will unveil its first-gen mixed-reality headset on the date in question.

Apple has announced that those who attend WWDC 2023 - or "WWDC23", as it is now officially known - get to spend an entire day at its iconic Park this year. The extra Special Event "for developers and students" is rated "to kick off an incredible week of online sessions, labs, and activities".

This reveal has acted as more fuel for rumors of a first-gen Reality headset, powered by the equally new xrOS, launch on this first day of the conference. The fact that Apple has included not 1 but 2 tours as part of its upcoming "all-day experience" as well as the traditional Keynote and State of the Union presentations may only act to boost them further.

WWDC23 attendees also have the chance to meet some dev-teams, watch some apps win at the Apple Design Awards ceremony and take part in other less specific "activities" in the course of the Special Event. It will take place on the first day of the conference (June 5, 2023), which is scheduled to run until June 9 this year.
