The StarTech Thunderbolt 4 Dock has a 40 Gbps Thunderbolt 4 port to connect to the host device, charging it with up to 96W power. Three further 15 W downstream Thunderbolt 4 ports can connect peripherals. The ports are also compatible with Thunderbolt 3 and USB4, and three USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 ports with a 10 Gbps bandwidth allow you to connect other gadgets. A fourth USB-A port with a 7.5W output can charge a smartphone or tablet. The Thunderbolt dock supports connection to a single monitor with a maximum resolution of 8K@30Hz or dual monitors with 4K@60Hz, though this is both monitor and laptop dependent.
Other ports include SD 4.0 card reader, Gigabit Ethernet and a 3.5mm audio jack. Plus, the accessory features a Kensington Mini Lock Slot and a Kensington Standard Lock Slot. The StarTech dock works with Thunderbolt 4/USB4 Windows laptops, Thunderbolt 4 M1 Max/M1 Pro MacBooks, and Thunderbolt 3 M1/Intel MacBooks.
