ZTE has provided more details about the Nubia Neovision Glass, its pair of augmented reality (AR) glasses. Incidentally, ZTE recently presented other Nubia-branded products, including the Z50 Ultra and the Pad 3D. For reference, while the latter should be available globally, the Z50 Ultra could be exclusive to China.
According to ZTE, the Nubia Neovision Glass relies on a Micro OLED display that outputs at 1080p with a 3,500 PPI pixel density and a 43-degree field of view. Additionally, the AR glasses will deliver up to 1,800 nits peak brightness and are TÜV Rheinland certified. In theory, the peak brightness figure is higher enough to meet HDR requirements, but ZTE has not disclosed HDR support yet.
Moreover, the Nubia Neovision Glass will be capable of recreating a 120-inch display, which is considerably smaller than the Honor Movie Glasses. ZTE claims that the Nubia Neovision Glass will offer Hi-Res Audio via omnidirectional speakers too. The Nubia Neovision Glass will be available next month in China. While the company has not revealed a specific release date yet, it has confirmed that its AR glasses will retail for CNY 2,999 (~US$431). ZTE has not commented on global availability yet, despite showcasing the Nubia Neovision Glass at MWC 2023 in Barcelona.
