Rumor | Nubia Z50S Pro will launch with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Leading Version, fast charging and massive round camera hump

Nubia had hinted at a switch to a huge Xiaomi 13 Ultra-esque camera hump in its upcoming Z50-series flagship refresh; now, according to the company's own CEO, the smartphone in question will indeed have a "module" the size of a (presumably US) "one-dollar coin".

Ni Fei has also now released a sample of what this device (now revealed to be called the Z50 Pro on its launch) can do with the image CMOS housed within it. It consists of a kitten picture, presumably so as to showcase the potential for detail, shutter-speed and general quality of the smartphone's "custom" main 35mm and f/1.59 lens, which can also apparently achieve flexible ISO values, hitting 572 for this shot.

Meanwhile, the appearance of a "Nubia NX713J" on the Geekbench and 3C websites invites suspicion that the Z50 Pro may also have surfaced in less official new leaks. One of them suggests that it can indeed hold the up-to-3.36GHz, or "Leading" version of the 8 Gen 2 over the Z50's head, although it may stick with 12GB of RAM and Android 13 out of the box.

The other new tip suggests it will also come with 80W wired charging which, while no longer exactly class-leading, will beat some high-end rivals, even the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, nonetheless. Furthermore, unlike many modern-day flagships from better-known brands, it seems Nubia might ship each new Z50 Pro with a compatible charger in its box .
