Anbernic is busy teasing the RG476H as its next gaming handheld release. However, it seems that the company is cooking up an alternative to the recent AYN Thor and Ayaneo Pocket DS. At this stage, Anbernic is unlikely to announce anything officially just yet.
For now, we suspect that the company will focus on the RG476H until this is available to purchase, just like the RG477M before it (curr. $329 on Amazon). In the meantime, an eagle-eyed Redditor has spotted a discussion on QQ with an Anbernic associate in which they provide details about the prospect of the company releasing a dual-display gaming handheld.
Contrary to previous reports about the RG408, the device in question will be modelled on the Nintendo DSi, like the AYN Thor and Ayaneo Pocket DS before it. With that being said, Maxzhou88 on QQ indicates that Anbernic has been developing a dual display gaming handheld for over a year with Nintendo DS emulation in mind.
Moreover, Maxzhou88 implies that Anbernic could use the Unisoc T620 rather than the more powerful Unisoc T820 or MediaTek Dimensity 8300 found in the company's recent Android gaming handhelds. Apparently, Anbernic intends to announce the unnamed device after releasing the RG476H. In other words, the company may provide a first glimpse towards the end of the month or by early October at the latest.
