It seems that Anbernic is worried about Ayaneo and the Pocket AIR Mini after all. Ultimately, neither company has acknowledged that they are working on similar gaming handhelds. However, the pair have been responding with new information about the Pocket AIR Mini and RG476H since the start of the month.
For instance, Anbernic showed the strength of RG476H emulation earlier this week. Shortly afterwards, Ayaneo teased that the Pocket AIR Mini would retail for less than $150. By contrast, Anbernic had indicated that the RG476H would initially retail for $174.99.
Just a day after Ayaneo shared more about the Pocket AIR Mini, Anbernic has adjusted its RG476H pricing. In an email shared by Retro Dodo, the RG476H is now set to retail for $164.99 with a $15 drop during the first 72 hours of pre-orders. Thus, the RG476H will initially be available for $149.99, which is within the ballpark of the Pocket AIR Mini's rumoured CNY 999 (~$140) launch pricing in China.
Currently, only the Anbernic RG476H is expected to arrive before the end of the month. In the meantime, the company has confirmed all key hardware specifications. Embedded above, the RG476H is effectively a conventional horizontal version of the RG Slide (curr. $199 on Amazon) with a Unisoc T820 chipset, 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM, 128 GB of UFS 2.2 flash storage, a 5,000 mAh battery and a 4.7-inch IPS display that resolves at 960p with a 120 Hz refresh rate.
