An "iQOO 8 Pro" rivals the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 on Geekbench
Vivo's high-performance brand iQOO is shaping up to launch the world's next Snapdragon 888+ smartphones, the 8 series. Accordingly, these devices will not have many peers on their debut, only truly comparing to Xiaomi's Mi Mix 4. On that note, it seems one of them has leaked onto Geekbench, as its possible Xiaomi counterpart did before it.
It may have done so in the form of the "vivo V2141A", which has now acquired several new listings on Geekbench 5. It has been detected as an Android 11 device with 8 to 12GB of RAM that run on Qualcomm's lahaina platform. This is all true of Snapdragon 888-based smartphones, except the V2141A has a core clocked at 3.00GHz.
This, like the Xiaomi 2106118C, sets it apart as powered by the 888's new Plus variant. The slightly newer chipset has propelled the probable iQOO 8-series device to scores more or less comparable to the likely Mi Mix 4 (and not even that much better than the 7).
That sounds impressive, although the aforementioned iQOO 7 did beat its fellow early-2021 flagship the Mi 11 in similar terms. Therefore, those who buy its mid-year refresh might get Mi Mix 4-level power - however, going by its OEM's reputation, it may come in at a much lower price this time around.
