Vivo's performance-focused subsidiary iQOO has now officially joined the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 bridage, becoming one of the latest OEMs to announce that their next top-end Android smartphone will offer the new and potentially world-beating siiicon.
iQOO has yet to disclose names or further specs for the device or devices in question, although speculation that they will directly succeed the 8 and 8 Pro are already rife.
Accordingly, they might be expected to uphold a reputation for completing a panel of speed-boosting specs with fast RAM and internal storage chips contained in eye-catching designs (possibly with BMW-themed branding) - not to mention super-fast 120W charging at the least.
Considering this pedigree, it is a shame iQOO phones typically never make it far outside of their native China. Then again, the 7 series did manage to get onto the Indian market in 2021. Now, their putative upgrades, which may indeed have been spotted on an IMEI database applying to the same country, are slated to do the same by February 2022.
