The iQOO Z5x is the world's latest Dimensity 900 smartphone with a 120Hz display and a 50MP main camera

Today is a good day for tech launches; however, iQOO, unlike Samsung, has all-new hardware to unveil today (October 20, 2021). The Z5x is now confirmed as the world's latest MediaTek Dimensity 900 vehicle, which may place it firmly in the lower mid-range 5G sector in its native China.

Nevertheless, the Z5x has the same FHD+ 120Hz attributes for its LCD display as its higher-end counterpart. Then again, at 6.58 inches in diagonal length, the newer device has the smaller panel. iQOO has sweetened this deal with TÜV Rheinland-certified low-blue-light emissions, a 240Hz touch sampling rate, and coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut.

The iQOO Z5x may stand out in 2021, even in its category, as it has dual rear cameras, found behind markedly large lens cutouts in its camera hump. In at least 1 case, this is because the main sensor has a typically high-end 50MP resolution. Its secondary lens is a standard-issue 2MP macro module, however.

The new phone is also equipped with Wi-Fi 6, a headphone jack and a 5,000mAh battery with fast enough 44W charging tech from its brand's owner Vivo. It will be available in black, white or orange finishes from its OEM's Chinese-language website, starting at 1,499 yuan (~US$235) for a 6GB RAM/128GB internal storage base model; 1,599 yuan (~$250) for an 8/128GB SKU or 1,799 yuan (~$282) for an 8/256GB maxed-out version.
