MIUI 12.5 Enhanced: Xiaomi confirms that more devices will receive the OS update in second and third batches
Xiaomi has not announced if it plans to release MIUI 12.5 Enhanced globally, with the update currently confined to MIUI's Chinese branch. There should be no reason why not though, as MIUI 12.5 Enhanced is just another software update.
So far, Xiaomi has confirmed that a dozen devices will receive MIUI 12.5 Enhanced, including flagships in the Mi 11, Mi 10, Redmi K30 and Redmi K40 series. The Mi Mix 4 is the first device to launch with MIUI 12.5 Enhanced, for reference, although Xiaomi may restrict its release to China.
Xiaomi started rolling out MIUI 12.5 on August 13, as the screenshot below shows. Supposedly, Xiaomi will issue MIUI 12.5 Enhanced to all eligible devices by the end of August 27, giving the company just two weeks to distribute all update files.
The company has stated that the update schedule only covers the first batch of devices, mind you. Hence, more devices should receive MIUI 12.5 Enhanced eventually. According to one blog post, Xiaomi will also distribute MIUI 12.5 Enhanced in second and third batches. Xiaomi has not designated a specific build number for MIUI 12.5 Enhanced, as it does for major MIUI revisions.
Instead, the company includes the phrase 'MIUI12.5 Enhanced' in its changelogs instead, along with what changes the updated version contains compared to MIUI 12.5. Some of these changes include better memory management, improve storage read and write speeds and reduced CPU usage.
