Refreshed Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite specifications emerge with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778 SoC and an under-display selfie camera
It seems that Xiaomi is preparing to release more Mi 11 Lite handsets, having announced the Mi 11 Lite 4G and Mi 11 Lite 5G in March. Incidentally, the company has launched eight devices under the Mi 11 series, three shy of the total Mi 10 series devices that Xiaomi brought to market. A Mi 11T is in the pipeline too, so Xiaomi may expand the Mi 11 series to a dozen devices before the end of the year, presuming there is a Mi 11T and Mi 11T Pro.
According to @xiaomiui, Xiaomi has two new Mi 11 Lite devices planned, of which one will be called the Mi 11 Lite NE (New Edition). Both models, codenamed Mona and Lisa, will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778 SoC, along with a 2,400 x 1,080-pixel display. It is unclear what panel type Xiaomi has used, but it is worth considering that the Mi 11 Lite 4G and Mi 11 Lite 5G have AMOLED displays.
The Mi 11 Lite NE will also have a 90 Hz refresh rate, mirroring the Mi 11 Lite 4G and Mi 11 Lite 5G. However, Mona will operate at up 120 Hz, a refresh rate that it will have in common with the Mi 11. @xiaomiui adds that Mona may have a Camera Under Panel (CUP) Display, as Xiaomi recently revealed with the Mi Mix 4.
Unfortunately, a release date for these new Mi 11 Lite devices remains unknown. Xiaomi has not announced another hardware event yet, either. Typically, Xiaomi releases new hardware in late September, so we may see new Mi 11 Lite devices arriving in about six weeks or so.
