MIUI 12.5 hits the EEA Redmi Note 9 as massive August patch lands on the EU ROM Poco F2 Pro
Xiaomi has sent out the MIUI 12.5 update to certain models of the Redmi Note 9 over the past few weeks. The company is now expanding the rollout to include other software models, however, and that should gladden the hearts of owners.
The MIUI 12.5 update is now rolling out to the European model of the Helio G85-powered Redmi Note 9. The update bears the build number "MIUI 12.5.1.0 RJOEUXM", signifying that it's the first MIUI 12.5 build for the EEA version of the phone. The OTA delivers the August security patch and brings performance improvements as well as a revamp to the Notes app. It is, of course, based on Android 11.
Xiaomi is also sending out a MIUI 12.5 build to the Poco F2 Pro. This OTA is rolling out to the European model of the phone with the build designation "MIUI 12.5.2.0 RJKEUXM". This is a weird OTA as it brigs neither MIUI 12.5 nor Android 11—it's just the August security patch—and yet somehow weighs in at a massive 3.1 GB. That's a larger file size than we've seen on full Android 11 upgrades for other Xiaomi phones.
