Acer Swift Air 14: New Macbook Neo competitor released for $699
A few months have passed since Acer unveiled the Swift Air 14. One of several devices it brought to Computex 2026 in May, the Swift Air 14 then landed in Europe and Southeast Asia at the start of September. Now, Acer has quietly expanded the availability of its new 14-inch laptop to more markets.
Specifically, the lightweight 14-inch laptop is now available to purchase in the US. At the same time, the Swift Air 14 can be backordered in Canada for CAD 999, with deliveries expected after October 7. By contrast, shipments should start later this week in the US.
As expected, the Swift Air 14 has reached the US for $699 as a direct challenge to the MacBook Neo (curr. $689 on Amazon). However, the laptop lacks its entry-level Core 3 304 processor or the higher-end Core 7 350 in North America. Instead, Acer sells the Swift Air 14 exclusively with the Core 5 320, which trails the A18 Pro powering the MacBook Neo in our benchmarks.
Moreover, the Swift Air 14 features 8 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage in North America. On top of that, Acer installs a 1,920 x 1,200-pixel IPS display with 350 nits peak brightness and a 120 Hz refresh rate. Also, the laptop contains a 70 Wh battery within its 1.19 kg housing, which Acer claims lasts up to 16 hours when web browsing and 19 hours when playing videos.
