Lenovo launches new 14-inch Intel Wildcat Lake laptop with slim and light design

Lenovo has launched a new laptop in China, the Xiaoxin 14 SE, and at the core, it's a slightly lower-end variant of the Xiaoxin Air 13 that was released in July 2026. It comes with a 14-inch display, but it's not a high refresh rate panel like the one on the Air 13.

Instead, Lenovo equipped it with a standard 60Hz display, but the good part is that the 14-inch screen has an anti-glare coating and a brightness rating of 400 nits, which should be bright enough for most lighting conditions. The Xiaoxin 14 SE also has a 90% screen-to-body ratio, and there's DC dimming for enhanced viewing comfort.

Under the hood, the Xiaoxin 14 SE has the Intel Core 5 320 processor, a mid-range option within the Wildcat Lake lineup. Per benchmarks, this CPU is good enough for day-to-day and moderate workloads, but the 16 TOPS NPU and 2-core Xe3 iGPU make it fall behind competitors like the Ryzen AI 5 340.

A notable highlight for this laptop is that the CPU is paired with 16GB of non-soldered DDR5 RAM, so the memory should be user-upgradeable. Now, while the Xiaoxin 14 SE isn't as light or thin as the MacBook Neo, the 16.9mm thickness and 1.39kg weight (about 3lbs) should make it easy to carry around.

The 50Wh battery isn't anything that Lenovo can boast about for the laptop's form factor, but the Wildcat Lake CPU inside is efficient. There's a decent port configuration, with the laptop having the following ports:

• 1x full-featured USB Type-C
• 1x HDMI
• 1x 3.5mm audio

Among the ports, USB Type-C supports 65W PD, allowing users to power it via a regular PD-supported adapter (Ugreen Nexode Air 65W curr. $24.99 on Amazon). In China, the 2026 Xiaoxin 14 SE costs CNY 5,599, which is around $834. About global availability, Lenovo lists a similarly configured IdeaPad Slim 3 (83RQ000YSB) on its PSREF website, but it doesn't seem to be widely available yet.
