Computex 2023 | Acer Predator Triton 16 launched with liquid metal Intel Raptor Lake-H, 240 Hz G-Sync display, and RTX 4070 Laptop GPU with Advanced Optimus
Acer previously introduced the Predator Triton 14 and Triton 17 X with Intel 13th gen processors and RTX 40 Series GPUs. Now, the company is adding the Predator Triton 16 to the portfolio.
The Predator Triton 16 does not come with a mini-LED display option like the Triton 14 or the Triton 17X. However, it offers a 16-inch 16:10 WQXGA (2560 x 1600) IPS G-Sync display with a 500-nit peak brightness and 240 Hz refresh rate. Acer rates the display to cover 100% of the DCI-P3 color space.
Processor options include Intel 13th gen parts such as the Core i7-13700H and the Core i9-13900H. Buyers can configure the Triton 16 with up to 32 GB of DDR5-5200 RAM and up to 2 TB of PCIe Gen 4 NVMe storage in RAID 0.
Acer offers the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop GPU as the graphics solution — there are no other GPU choices available. That said, the Predator Triton 16 supports Nvidia Advanced Optimus, which helps bypass the iGPU on-the-fly without having to restart the device.
The company also dwelt upon the Triton 16's dual-fan cooling system with 5th gen AeroBlade 3D fins that complements the Vortex Flow system comprised of dedicated heatpipes and exhaust vents. Acer said that the use of a liquid metal thermal interface material for the CPU ensures peak sustained performance.
Connectivity options include Killer Wi-Fi 6E AX1675i WLAN and E2600 Ethernet, 1x Thunderbolt 4, 2x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, and HDMI 2.1-out. A microSD card reader, 1080p webcam, and a 99.98 WHr battery complete the main features.
The Acer Predator Triton 16 will be available in North America and EMEA in September at prices starting from US$1,799.99 and €2,299, respectively.
