Xiaomi Redmi G27 series launches as new gaming monitors with 1080p and 1440p resolutions
Xiaomi has introduced the Redmi G27 series in China, a pair of 27-inch gaming monitors. Sold as the Redmi G27 and Redmi G27Q, the pair also offer 165 Hz refresh rates, 1 ms GtG response times and <2 Delta E colour space coverages. Seemingly, Xiaomi has based both monitors on IPS panels too.
However, the Redmi G27Q operates at a higher refresh rate than the Redmi G27, as its name suggests. According to Xiaomi, the Redmi G27Q runs natively at 2,560 x 1,440 pixels (2.5K/1440p), which the company refers to as a 2K panel. In comparison, the Redmi G27 is a native 1080p panel (1,920 x 1,080). Additionally, while both monitors deliver 8-bit colour depth, only the Redmi G27Q is VESA DisplayHDR 400 certified.
The Redmi G27 and Redmi G27Q differ in other areas too. For example, whereas the Redmi G27 has a simple stand, Xiaomi has equipped the Redmi G27Q with a fully adjustable stand that can be tilted, rotated and pivoted. Moreover, the Redmi G27Q has a USB Type-C port that the Redmi G27 lacks, which supports 65 W charging via the USB Power Delivery protocol. Both come with DisplayPort and HDMI ports, though. Currently, Xiaomi has only announced the Redmi G27 series in its home market and has not yet commented on a global release. For reference, the Redmi G27 retails for CNY 799 (~US$113), with Xiaomi pricing the Redmi G27Q at CNY 1,399 (~US$198).
