Anbernic RG Nano: Official details revealed for new gaming handheld
Anbernic has provided details about the RG Nano, a tiny gaming handheld that YouTube channel NITTRX helped leak earlier this month. While the company has not listed the new device on its website yet, it has released a short YouTube video, embedded below. Seemingly, Anbernic will offer the RG Nano in three launch colours, shown above, all with an aluminium alloy housing.
According to the company, the RG Nano measures 68 x 42 mm, smaller than the Visual Memory Unit (VMU) that SEGA designed for the Dreamcast. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Anbernic promotes the RG Nano as a particularly pocketable device and small enough to add to a keychain. Additionally, it also shows using the device as a music player, courtesy of the USB Type-C port on its top edge.
Nonetheless, the gaming handheld still has ABXY buttons, a d-pad, select/start buttons and top-mounted shoulder buttons. Moreover, Anbernic is expected to ship with a 1,050 mAh battery powering an Allwinner K3S chipset. The company has not revealed pricing or availability yet. However, it seems that a June release could be on the cards, especially as Anbernic appears to have finalised retail units.
