Anbernic RG Nano: Micro gaming handheld leaks ahead of release
Details about an upcoming Anbernic gaming handheld have surfaced online, courtesy of the YouTube channel NITTRX. According to NITTRX, the gaming handheld will arrive as the RG Nano, although Retro Handhelds notes that it was previously thought of as the Anbernic Micro. Regardless, Retro Handhelds considers the RG Nano something of a FunKey S clone, which relies on a low-powered ARM Cortex-A7 processor, 64 MB DDR2 RAM and a 450 mAh battery in a clamshell form factor.
In comparison, the RG Nano purportedly features an Allwinner K3S chipset, a 1,050 mAh battery and roughly a 1.5-inch display. Despite its keychain sizing, Anbernic has managed to include a d-pad, shoulder buttons, start/select buttons and what Retro Handhelds believes are the ABXY buttons from the RG405M. For reference, Anbernic launched the RG405M in March for US$167.99 with the more capable Unisoc Tiger T618 chipset and a 4.5-inch display.
Supposedly, Anbernic will announce the RG Nano within the next weeks. The company has not teased the gaming handheld on social media yet, but Retro Handhelds expects to receive a review unit shortly. Additionally, the website suggests that Anbernic will offer the RG Nano for approximately US$70, including shipping.
