8BitDo releases upgrade kit with silent linear switches for the Arcade Controller

Last year, 8BitDo released the Arcade Controller as a leverless controller for Windows PCs, Nintendo Switch (2) systems, and Xbox consoles. Now, it has announced an upgrade kit for the controller that enhances the experience.

The Arcade Controller features Kailh Wizard low-profile mechanical switches which are clicky and feature a pre-travel of 1.2mm. However, if you prefer silent keys with a shorter pre-travel, the 8BitDo Upgrade Kit for Arcade Controller is for you.

The upgrade kit comes with 16 Kailh Purple Glede linear switches, which are silent and have a shorter pre-travel distance of 0.8mm. 8BitDo also includes gold keycaps to replace the black and red ones that ship with the controller. Buyers will also find in the box a keycap puller and a wrist rest.

The 8BitDo Upgrade Kit for Arcade Controller is priced at $29.99 and is available to buy now from the 8BitDo eShop. The Arcade Controller is priced at $89.99, but if you are an Amazon Prime member, you can purchase it for $69.29 on Amazon.

The 8BitDo Upgrade Kit for Arcade Controller should be compatible with not just the N-edition, but also the Xbox Edition. If you own the Signature Edition, you don't need the upgrade kit, at least not the switches, as these Kailh Purple Glede linear switches are the same ones inside the Signature Edition.
