8BitDo expands availability for its Retro Cube 2 Speaker - N Edition

In October 2025, 8BitDo announced a successor to its Retro Cube Speaker that was released in 2016. The Retro Cube 2 Speaker wasn't just an ordinary successor, but a special edition one. This is because it launched as one of the handful of products 8BitDo announced to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Nintendo Entertainment System, hence its full name being 8BitDo Retro Cube 2 - N Edition.
Since its release in December 2025, the 8BitDo Retro Cube 2 - N Edition has been exclusive to 8BitDo's eShop, but 8BitDo has now announced it is available to purchase on Amazon, thus expanding its availability.
The 8BitDo Retro Cube 2 Speaker - N Edition is available on Amazon for $49.99, the same price as on the 8BitDo eShop. For that price, buyers get a unique-look portable Bluetooth speaker with some pretty nice features.
At the top of the speaker are controls that are shaped in the form of a controller's D-Pad. Inside the cube-shaped body are two 5W speakers, and buyers can pair the Retro Cube 2 speaker with a second unit for a true stereo experience. The speaker features Bluetooth 5.3, 2.4G Wi-Fi (dongle included), USB-C audio, and even has a built-in microphone, so you can use it as a speakerphone.
Considering the 8BitDo Retro Cube 2 Speaker - N Edition is from a brand known for making gaming peripherals, it is not much of a surprise that it also has a gaming mode for low-latency audio.
8BitDo's portable speaker has a 2,000mAh battery, which is advertised as providing up to 30 hours of playback. The speaker comes with a wireless charging dock, so you don't have to fiddle with a charging cable when the battery is low.
