Deal | Sonos Move 2 drops to $399 ($100 off) ahead of the release of the cheaper Play speaker

Sonos recently announced a new portable Bluetooth speaker called the Play, and it is positioned between the Roam 2 and the Move 2. The new speaker is available to pre-order now for $299, ahead of its release on the last day of March. However, if you don't mind shelling out some extra money for more audio power, you can pick up the larger Move 2 which is currently on sale.
The Sonos Move 2 originally costs $499, but for a limited time, the speaker can be gotten for a lower price. Both Sonos and official retail stores such as Amazon, have knocked $100 off the price of the Move 2, bringing it down to $399. This is a fair price considering the speaker is already over 2 years old.
Buyers will be able to purchase the Sonos Move 2 in Black, White, and Olive at the discounted price if they are purchasing from the manufacturer's store. However, if you are buying it from Amazon, you are limited to just Black and White.
The Move 2 has three class-D amplifiers compared to the class-H amplifiers of the new Play speaker. It also has two angled tweeters, one mid-woofer, and far-field microphones. The mics are used for voice control and the speaker's Trueplay feature, which adjusts the speaker's sound based on the rooms layout. Weighing 3kg, the speaker has capacitive touch controls, a recessed handle, and a microphone mute switch.
Rated IP56 for dust and water resistance, the Move 2 has Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi 6, line-in support, ethernet (via USB-C) and a user-replaceable 44Wh battery with a 24-hour battery life. It charges wirelessly via an included charger, but also has a USB-C port for ethernet and for powering other devices such as a smartphone.
The Sonos Move 2 has mostly favorable reviews, however, it isn't perfect. A major complaint has been the app which received an update in 2024 that can best be described as disastrous for users and the company, itself.
While multiple software updates have been released to fix the issues, the experience may vary among users. Interestingly, Sonos has a new major app update coming in the next couple of months, so it is expected that the app will get even better.
