Haute 42's Retro+ subsidiary teases its own modular arcade controller

Just a few days after JunkFood Custom Arcade announced its modular arcade controller, another brand has shared a teaser for its own modular arcade controller. The new controller is made by Retro+, a sub-brand of Haute42, a Hong Kong-based technology company.
The controller is expected to launch as the HauteBox One, according to a short teaser video posted on X. Other than the name, the video also shows the controller in two designs. First, the controller appears with a leverleless layout, and then the video glitches and the controller is shown with a stick on the left. It is believed this implies that users will be able to switch between the two layouts, rather than having to purchase two separate controllers.
In addition, in-a-blink and you miss it moment, the video shows the controller will have red directional buttons while the rest of the buttons are black. It is also shown that each button has an RGB LED. Unfortunately, no technical details have been provided. However, the video says the controller, which is a spiritual successor to two Evo award-winning products, will launch this summer.
We will have to wait until its announcement to see if it is cheaper than JunkFood Custom Arcade's Slider modular controller, which will be available to pre-order on Friday, June 26 for $129, but will cost $149 when it launches.
