The Mijia Mi Smart Projector 2 Pro is a relatively portable FHD projector launched by Xiaomi with the potential advantage of a time-of-flight (ToF) sensor for added focus capabilities in late 2020 in China. Now, it has a Global variant, which means it runs Android TV and is available on Banggood from now.

The Mijia Mi Projector 2 Pro measures 215 x 201 x 143mm and weighs 3.7 kilograms (kg); therefore, Xiaomi touts it as a good option for a fairly compact home or office content-distributor. It can throw a 1920 x 1080 image of 60 to 120 inches in size, although it is also rated to decode 4K or 8K footage. It had only been available in China to date, although it can now also be ordered in Global form.

This means that it runs Android TV (9.0) rather than the Patchwall UI also found on many Mi TV units in Xiaomi's native market. Therefore, this variant can run apps such as Netflix, YouTube and so on, and also has a built-in Chromecast. However, it still also has the HDR10 support, built-in dual 10W speakers and keystone correction of the original.

The Mijia Mi Projector 2 Pro (Global) also still has its 1,300 ANSI lumen rating, which is far from the best in the category. However, it should be fine in most conditions that are not full daylight. Those interested in such a new projector can now order one from Banggood. It starts at US$800 there at present, although this price might rise as its units get snapped up on this platform.
