Xiaomi Mijia Projector Youth Edition 2 launching soon with new smart abilities

A new promo image has been shared by Xiaomi showing the upcoming Mijia Projector Youth Edition 2. Only a little bit of information is offered alongside an image of the projector, but it will be launched for crowdfunding on September 2. Apparently, this next iteration of the Youth Edition Mijia Projectors will have the XiaoAI voice assistant present.

Speculation about the new projector suggests that it might get rebranded for the international market, being renamed from Mijia Projector Youth Edition 2 to the Xiaomi Mi Smart Compact Projector 2. The design of the new model looks different to the previous device, as it seems to be completely clad in white plastic rather than having a fabric-covered face.

Along with the new smart assistant feature, it is expected the Xiaomi Mijia Projector Youth Edition 2 will bring various upgrades over the predecessor with it but remain at a similar price point. A figure of around 2,499 yuan has been predicted (US$364). The previous model offered 500 ANSI lumens brightness for its light source, up to 120 inches of Full HD projection, and its integrated sound chamber made it into a handy Bluetooth speaker too.
